General Manager, General Manager Prepared By: Ark Hospitality Date: July 2023 SUMMARY: In an effort and manner that represent ARK Hospitalitys vision, mission and values, this position is primarily responsible for ensuring standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness are maintained throughout the hotel.
This leader manages the housekeeping and laundry departments efficiently and control costs by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Acknowledges and greets guests in public spaces with a warm, friendly greeting.
Cleaning of hotel rooms including but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, cleaning bathrooms, lobby, and common areas.
Perform quality cleaning to meet required standards within set time limits.
Comply with all safety guidelines.
Pick up ground litter around hotel or wherever visible.
In addition to cleaning duties, housekeeping may also be responsible for shared duties, such as delivering beds to guest rooms, replenishing toiletry supplies and lifting and moving lightweight objects around the room.
To work as a housekeeping supervisor, candidates will need to have a strong eye for detail.
Housekeeping Supervisor must be an effective leader, cultivating a positive and motivating environment.
Responsible for the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel and grounds.
Inspect guest rooms and public spaces to ensure quality standards are being achieved.
Ensure the housekeeping team is adhering to labor productivity guidelines and following budgeted expectations.
Completes monthly inventories to ensure adequate PAR levels following budget and forecast guidelines.
ATTENDANCE: Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises laundry and room attendants.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one- on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: PMS Rooms Management and related software, Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation software (PowerPoint).
