Summary: The Sanitation Manager is the technical expert for sanitation-hygiene and is responsible for providing support for manufacturing divisions in the areas of sanitation, safety, food quality and equipment.
Ensures the effectiveness of the company cleaning and sanitizing programs for all manufacturing locations.
Partners with facility sanitation leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of the sanitation programs, including cleaning frequency, training, sanitation standard operations procedures (SSOPs) and work instructions.
Works with QA Managers, Safety, and Operations in ensuring documented sanitation training to supervisors/team members, SQF plant preparation, assist when needed to cover facility QA positions in the absence of personnel, and assist in training and onboarding of QA plant personnel.

Author and updates technical and manufacturing documents to support sanitation, engineering process changes, investigations, and validations.
Creates and maintains a validation and verification system for sanitation processes.
Replaces the shortcomings and inconsistencies within operations with newer and updated sanitation methods.
Recommends/collaborates with engineering on the hygienic design and accessibility for deep clean prior to the purchase of new machinery and equipment.
Collaborate with Safety, Operations and Engineering to prioritize improvements of existing infrastructure.
Evaluates equipment and processes to ensure compliance with environmental, and safety regulations.
Collaborates with Safety, Operations and Engineering on performance of CIP systems and cleaning chemical approvals.
Tracks manufacturing facilities sanitation performance, and ensures progress is being made to close identified gaps.
Collaborates with Quality Managers on environmental monitoring, sanitation policy, food safety plans, microbial test results and internal audits.
Collaborates with vendors who provide chemicals, cleaning, and any supporting equipment.
Demonstrates strong leadership by coaching and training team members.
Develops sanitation training instructions and SSOP’s.
Ensures that the best sanitary practices are communicated and shared between facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or commensurate training and experience.
7+ years of operational and management experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
