Key Areas of Responsibility:
General
Supervise and monitor children to ensure that they play and interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner
Ensure that children are safe and that their everyday needs are being met, including but not limited to, diapering, dressing, grooming, feeding, etc.
Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
Help children keep good hygiene
Change diapers of infants and toddlers
Facilitate nap times, when appropriate
Organize activities and develop age-appropriate curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore their interests
Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
Ensure children are kept active, entertained, and engaged in development activities
Assist children in learning to work together through a variety of interactive games and activities designed to encourage cooperation as well as assist in successfully resolving conflicts as they arise
Model and encourage good social skills e.

Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential problems to the attention of parents and guardians
Responsible for leading children in the cleanup of eating and play areas throughout the day
Provide a nurturing environment to foster children’s healthy development
Organization
Responsible for keeping records of children’s progress, routines, interests and presence in the facility
Responsible for cleaning interactive areas throughout the workday
Maintain contact with children’s parents/caregivers to report progress, issues, or emergencies
Skills/ Special Requirements:
Must possess current California driver’s license or Identification Card.
Must possess or obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications in allotted timeframe.
Must have sensitivity to and ability to embrace individuals of different genders, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, physical abilities and those with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Strong verbal communication and listening skills to converse with children, staff, and parents/guardians.
Excellent patience and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children of all ages
Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time
Ability to anticipate and address potential interactions or issues between children
TB test to be conducted yearly or be verified by a physician
