Cashier (Retail)
Reports to: General Manager or Operations Manager
Classification: Seasonal, Part-time, Non-exempt
Summary
The primary objective of the Cashier is to complete monetary transactions with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Essential Functions
Assists customers in a pleasant and helpful manner using ePOS Software.
Answers all telephone calls in a friendly manner using the Company's standard greeting and closure.
Professionally and effectively communicates with staff and the public.
May sell weekly and seasonal permits and track permit stock.
Maintains customer focus and professionalism in high volume and stressful situations.
Operates cash register and credit card machine.
Checks the functionality of all sales counter equipment including registers, credit card machines & phone lines, reporting problems to supervisor.
Prices and stocks all merchandise as directed.
Counts cash register till at the beginning and end of each shift.
Reconciles cash and credit to tape report and logs any over/shorts.
Maintains clean, organized, attractive counters, displays, shelves, windows, and coolers.
Cleans and organizes various areas of the store, including emptying trash.
Notifies supervisor immediately any time a guest is not 100% satisfied with their experience.
Performs additional duties assigned.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
Possesses good communications skills, a courteous demeanor, and a helpful attitude.
Able to work weekends and holidays, early mornings, evenings and holidays.
Basic computer skills; ability to operate cash registers and calculators.
Experience with POS or equivalent retail system preferred.
Basic math aptitude, ability to count back change manually.
Willing to perform basic manual labor, move about the facility and/or potentially remain stationary for extended periods of time.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Knowledgeable about park features, rules & regulations.
Able to work unsupervised.
